Canadian YNT defender picks Big Ten program

One of the anchors of Vancouver Whitecaps' U18 side, Joel Harrison is set to join Michigan later this year, he confirmed to TopDrawerSoccer.com over the weekend.

The No. 39 ranked player for the class of 2017, Harrison has made 11 appearances for the Whitecaps during the 2016-17 Development Academy season. Vancouver currently sits in first place in the Northwest Divisoon with a record of 14-5-3.

Over the past year, Harrison's made a handful of appearances for Canada's U18 Men's National Team, competing in friendlies down in El Salvador. He also playe in three USL matches in 2016 for Vancouver Whitecaps 2.

Harrison joins Henry Masburn, Jacob Nunner, Umar Farouk Osman, Nash Pirie, Jackson Ragen, Austin Swiech, Carlos Tellez, Marc Ybarra and Mohammed Zakyi as part of Michigan's 2017 recruiting class.
