TDS Division I Men's Top 25: Aug. 29
The first weekend of the season is in the books for the men’s Division I programs. With nearly every program in action, there were plenty of opportunities for teams to move up the rankings in the TopDrawerSoccer Top 25.
North Carolina remains in the top spot following wins over Cal Poly and Saint Louis over the weekend. Maryland keeps hold of the second spot following a 1-1 draw against UCLA in Southern California on Friday.
Akron slots in at No. 3. after a 1-0 win over Seattle on Sunday. Syracuse moves into No. 4 with a pair of wins over the weekend. The Orange defeated LMU 2-1 in double overtime on Sunday.
Indiana jumps up to No. 5 with the wins over New Mexico and UC Irvine over the weekend.
Georgetown dropped from the top 25 following losses to Akron and West Virginia in the opening weekend. SMU also slid down the rankings after starting the season with a 1-2 loss at home against Michigan State.
