14 for ’14: Girls high school stars
The high school season annually produces a glut of massively productive prospects with an eye toward the future. With 2014 finally here, this is a look at 14 of the best current high schoolers in the nation and their destinations later this year. For most here, a high-profile college career isn’t far away.
M Rachel Corboz (Pingry): Georgetown will welcome Corboz with open arms later this year, and not merely because the Hoyas have gotten prime contributions from her sister already. Her uncommon vision in the middle and playmaking ability made her one of the best in the nation, and her 16 goals and five assists were the cherry on the top of a high school career in which she won two state titles.
M Maddie Huster (St. Ursula): Wake Forest is getting a good one. The talented midfielder pulled the strings for Cincinnati’s St. Ursula, perennially one of the top private girls soccer high school programs in the nation. For her efforts, Huster joined teammate and stalwart defender Megan Niebuhr in the NSCAA All-Star game. Niebuhr is off to Ohio(w).
