ECNL SD Standouts: Day One
SAN DIEGO, California - The joy of ECNL National Events is the opportunity to see so many quality players in one location over three days. The opening day on Friday provided a perfect showcase for a number of known talents and relatively unknown talents to step up and show their worth against quality competition.
Here are the best players that TopDrawerSoccer saw from the games TDS attended on Friday.
M Jenna Nighswonger, Slammers U14 - The youngest Slammers team in the ECNL is full of talented prospects. Nighswonger stole the show on Friday though. The center midfielder plays with an air of confidence even as players around her trying to kick her in the ankles. Nighswonger kept the ball under pressure with her craftiness and her close control. She also displayed great vision in helping to pick out teammates in good spots to break down the Colorado Rush U14 defense. Nighswonger ended the day with an assist in the winning effort.
