Regional Leagues at U13

So Cal Blues Baker retains the top spot as it continues its undefeated run in California Regional League play. Though the squad remains in third position in the conference standings, it is still the only team without a loss while the top two (Fullerton Rangers White and LA Galaxy South Bay Elite) each have two games in hand. The Rangers have had a 4-0-1 run of their own in the league last month, and coupled with their second place finish in the Coast Soccer League (behind No. 8 Eagles SC) last fall, enter the rankings at No. 24.

Solar Chelsea Red ticks up a notch to No. 4 after taking home the Vegas Cup MLK Weekend championship trophy. The squad from Dallas finished the Lake Highland Girls Classic League’s fall season on top of the standings, and ran the table in Las Vegas conceding just a single goal through the entire weekend.

Winter Break at U14

With ECNL play in this age group on winter break, and US Youth Soccer National League not resuming until March, there is no update to the Grande Sports Academy TeamRank Top 25 this month.

Tophat secures bid at U15

Tophat 18 Gold concluded US Youth Soccer National League play in January with a 7-0-0 record, including five shutouts, securing a bid to the 2015 US Youth Soccer National Championships in July. Leading the charge for the Atlanta-based team was IMG Academy 150 Class of 2018 standout (at No. 14) and U17 U.S. Women’s National Team member Rachel Jones, who finished the season with a league-leading 12 goals. With the result, Tophat breaks into the Grand Sports Academy TeamRank top five at No. 5.

Next week: U16, U17, U18 Boys update

Grande Sports Academy TeamRank Top 25 is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.

The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.

Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.

A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
