The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) conducted a live draw on Thursday to determine the placement of qualifying teams for the 2015-2016 postseason. The ECNL, the top girls club soccer league in the United States, encompasses five age groups that range from U14 to U18. In the U14 and U18 age groups, 16 teams qualify for the playoffs based off a conference play. 

For the other three age groups, 32 teams earn spots in the postseason for the Champions League bracket. Those spots are given to the 26 automatic berths given to the top teams in each division plus six wildcards. Past those 32 teams, there is a North America Cup that includes the top 16 next best teams. The next 16 teams that fall outside of that window take part in the ECNL Showcase Cup.

The Southern California teams dominated the Champions League Division last season, but this season could be different, as no SoCal teams hold the top seeds entering the post season. Slammers FC, the 2015 U14 champions, enters this season’s U15 postseason as the No. 3 seed. Concorde Fire enters as the No. 1 seed in that age group. 

So Cal Blues, the 2015 U15 champions, holds the No. 3 seed entering the postseason this year. PDA is the No. 1 seed in the U16 age group. West Coast FC, the 2015 U16 champions, enters the playoffs as the No. 8 seed. SC Del Sol is the top seed in the U17 age group. PDA, the 2015 U17 champions, also enters the postseason as the No. 8 seed. Eclipse Select Soccer Club is the No. 1 seed in the U18 age group.
