Emporia State Tips St. Cloud State, 2-1

St. Cloud State University soccer fell short in its first appearance at home this season with a 2-1 loss to Emporia State on Sept. 12. Emporia State's record improves to 3-0-0 to start the season while SCSU drops to 1-2-0.
Emporia's Elizabeth High netted the first goal at 27:05 in the first half. In the second half, Amelie Heun followed scoring the game-winning goal at 59:19. St. Cloud State's lone goal was scored at 80:32 by freshman Abby McDonald, scoring her first goal as a Husky during her first home game. Gabby Fleck added the lone assist on the goal for the Huskies.
Both goalkeepers made 5 saves within the 90 minutes of play. With addition of tonight's loss, Brittany Plombon's record is now 1-2 in the nets for the season.
St. Cloud State is set to play on Sunday Sept., 12 in Minnesota Duluth. The Huskies return home on October 4th 2014 for a 1 p.m. match against Southwest Minnesota State.
