National Signing Day is usually a low-key affair for college soccer. On the women’s side, most of the players have been verbally committed for a few years prior to putting ink to paper on the first Wednesday of February. The men’s side is basically the same with players deciding years in advance for where they are headed in the next step of their careers.
There was some drama this year though. One of the top recruits moved up a graduating class in order to join the 2016 crowd. There was a top 50 recruit who waited until just before signing day before announcing his decision.
TopDrawerSoccer takes a look at the five biggest surprises from Signing Day.
