Utah Valley University women's soccer coach Brent Anderson has announced the addition of nine student-athletes who will join the Wolverines this fall.
 
Signing their letters of intent on Wednesday were Linley Brown (Wakefield, Rhode Island), Laken Flinders (Pleasant Grove, Utah), Ashlyn Farnes (Bountiful, Utah), McKenzie Jorgensen (Highland, Utah), Mia Mazur (Sandy, Utah), Leesa Stowe (Highland, Utah) and Angela Timm (Cottonwood Heights, Utah). Whitney Paskins (Draper, Utah) and Courtney Stromberg (Highland, Utah) also committed to play at UVU in the fall, earning academic scholarships.
 
"With the success that we have experienced, we knew we had to bring in a group of players that would instantly add to the team and help us continue to progress," said Utah Valley head coach Brent Anderson. "This is a very talented, hard working group of athletes that will definitely have a positive impact on UVU soccer."
 
Brown prepped at Shattuck-St. Mary's school in Faribault, Minnesota where she played for the club soccer team at SSM.  She helped lead Shattuck-St. Mary's to a Las Vegas mayor's cup title in 2014.
 
Flinders, a midfielder, led American Fork High School to its first state playoff appearance in 15 years. Flinders was a two-time 5A state honorable mention honoree and was named first team All-Region in both 2013 and 2014. She also earned Academic All-Region honors all four years at AFHS. Flinders played club soccer for the Celtic Storm.
 
Farnes prepped at Woods Cross High School where she led her team to multiple state playoff appearances. She also played for the La Roca futbol club and spent time at the American School of Sao Paulo in 2014 where she led the team to a pair of titles. Farnes plan on studying communications at UVU.
 
Jorgensen, a goalkeeper, earned numerous 5A all-state honors and multiple all-region honors while at American Fork High School.  She helped the Cavemen to a quarterfinal appearance at the state playoffs in 2014. Jorgensen played club soccer for Arsenal. She will be studying psychology at Utah Valley.
 
Mazur prepped at Brighton High School where she helped the Bengals to a 5A state title in 2013. She also helped BHS to a state semifinal appearance in 2014. She played club soccer for Sparta United. Mazur plans to study nursing at UVU.
 
Paskins was a first team 5A All-State honoree at Alta High School. She helped the Hawks to four appearances at the 5A state tournament and helped the Hawks to a state title her freshman season. Paskins also earned a state individual track title in the 3200-meter run her freshman campaign. She also earned the Scholar Athlete award at AHS. Paskins played club soccer for Olympique Montreux FC. She will be studying sports medicine at UVU.
 
Stowe led Lone Peak High School to four 5A state playoff appearances. She received numerous accolades while at LPHS, including 5A first team All-State honors, first team All-Region honors, and Region IV Defensive MVP honors. She played for the La Roca futbol club where she won four State Cup championships and a Santiago Chile Cup championship this past year.
 
Stromberg prepped at American Fork High School where she earned seven varsity letters (four in soccer and three in swimming). She earned first team All-State honors and was named to the All-Region first team. She helped lead the Cavemen to the quarterfinals of the state tournament. Stromberg was also named to the Academic All-Region team. She played club soccer for the Celtic Storm. She plans to study communications at UVU.
 
Timm rounds out the class as one of eight newcomers from the state of Utah. Timm lettered all four years at Brighton High School. She helpled the Bengals to four straight 5A state tournament appearances, including a state title in 2013. She earned Bengal of the season honors (MVP) here senior season. Timm played club soccer for Sparta United. She plans to study criminal justice at Utah Valley.
