Forwards
Dorian Bailey, St. Teresa's Academy (Kansas City, Mo.), Sr., North Carolina
Despite missing five high school matches while training with the U.S. Under-19 Women's National Team, Bailey still swept the state's top honors -- Gatorade state player of the Year and the coaches' Class 4 Player of the Year. Bailey guided St. Teresa's to a state title, which included an epic state semifinal win over St. Joseph's before a one-sided title match against Howell Central.
Caroline Kerns, Broad Run (Ashburn, Va.), Sr., Virginia Tech
Kerns was named the Washington Post Player of the Year and the Virginia Group 5A Player of the Year after leading Broad Run to a state title. The Virginia Tech signee had 17 goals and 12 assists.
Jenna Szczesny, Barrington (Barrington, Ill.), Sr., Loyola-Chicago
Szczesny is a two-time Gatorade state player of the year, and she delivered a stellar performance in 2015. The senior scored 37 goals and assisted on nine others, as Barrington placed third in the Illinois state tournament.
Jennifer Westendorf, Grayson (Loganville, Ga.), Jr., Notre Dame
Westendorf scored 40 goals and had 16 assists in leading Grayson to a 20-3 season and a Class AAAAAA state title. She scored two goals and added an assist in the 5-0 state final victory over Lambert. Westerndorf was named the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Gwinnett Daily Post Player of the Year. She has scored 86 goals over the past two seasons.
Kaylee Dao, Jenks (Jenks, Okla.), Sr., Oklahoma
Dao scored 18 goals and had 11 assists, leading Jenks to a 15-2 record and a state runner-up finish. Both of the team's losses were to SIMA FAB 50 No. 1 Tulsa Union. Dao scored the lone goal in the team's 2-1 setback to Tulsa Union in the final. The senior also won the Gatorade state player of the year title.
Janae Gonzalez, Vista del Lago (Folsom, Calif.), Sr., Santa Clara
Gonzalez returned to high school soccer this year after missing most of the 2014 season while playing for Mexico in the Under-17 World Cup. Gonzalez ended her career with 41 goals and 27 assists in 43 matches.
Mallory Pugh, Mountain Vista (Highlands Ranch, Colo.), Jr., UCLA
Pugh, a member of the U.S. Under-20 National Team, delivered 24 goals and 12 assists for Mountain Vista. Pugh swept the state honors -- winning both the coaches and media Class 5A Player of the Year titles, along with Gatorade state and national PoY honors.
Ella Stevens, Grayson (Loganville, Ga.), Sr., Duke
While teammate Jennifer Westendorf was collecting local honors, Stevens snagged the state's Gatorade Player of the Year award. She scored 20 goals and added 27 assists while helping Grayson to a state title.
Michelle Xiao, Omaha Westside (Omaha, Neb.), Sr., Stanford
Xiao is being hailed as the top talent to ever come out of Nebraska. This past season, she scored 26 goals, despite missing three games while she was training with the U.S. Youth National Team. She finished her high school career with 65 goals and 30 assists.
Defenders
Margaret Begley, Omaha Marian (Omaha, Neb.), Sr., Texas Tech
Marian has a history of strong defensive teams, and Begley added to that legacy this year. Marian allowed only nine goals in a state runner-up season. Begley got involved in the offense, as well, chipping in with five goals and three assists.
Kayla Morrison, [Norfolk Christian va-w] (Norfolk, Va.), Jr., Virginia
Morrison was named the Tidewater Conference Player of the Year, and the honor seemed fitting considering her contributions. Although labeled as a defender, Morrison moved into the midfield and into the attack whenever instant offense was needed. She finished woth 20 goals and 11 assists.
Goalkeeper
Hannah Warner, Owasso (Owasso, Okla.), So., Oklahoma State
Warner surrendered only three goals while leading Owasso to a 14-1 season. In two varsity seasons, The Oklahoma State commit has 22 shutouts.
Coach of the Year
Jim Burnside, New Trier (Winnetka, Ill.)
New Trier claimed its fifth large-school state title since 2003. Burnside has been coaching New Trier since 1997 and has compiled a record of 434-67-28.
