While the winter season is winding down, the spring is heating up, and TopDrawerSoccer offers the best of high school soccer for both seasons starting this week.

Two significant story lines carried the girls winter rankings as former SIMA FAB 50 No. 1 Monte Vista (Danville, Calif.) lost for the first time since 2013, ending the Mustangs' run at No. 1. The other big news from the winter season, Ursuline Academy (Dallas, Texas) lost in the TAPPS state tournament for this first time in 25 years. The perennial Texas power had won 24 straight state titles until losing the final to SIMA FAB 50 No. 5 Bishop Lynch (Dallas, Texas) over the weekend. This weekend's events allow Coppell (Coppell, Texas) to inherit the top spot, marking the first time this school year that a California program has not been in the No. 1 position.

There were no major upsets in the boys winter rankings, leaving the Top 20 largely unchanged. St. Paul's (Covington, La.) was the only Top 25 team to finish its season, and the Wolves capped an undefeated run with a 3-0 victory over [Jesuit la-m] (New Orleans, La.) in the state final.

In spring soccer action, preseason No. 1 teams Wando (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) boys and [Harrison ga-g] (Kennesaw, Ga.) girls lived up to early expectations with perfect starts. Wando won a tournament to start its season while Harrison is off to a 4-0 start despite a weather-interupted week of play last week.
