The U.S. U17 MNT is in the final stages of preparation for the 2025 Concacaf World Cup qualifying event.
With the Youth World Cup expanding to 48 teams, eight sides from the region will earn spots. That means it’s much easier to reach the tournament, as the U.S. only faces a trio of opponents in the U.S. Virginia Islands, St. Kitts & Nevis and Cuba. Several names are missing, mostly talented 2009s who are in camp with their respective pro teams.
Instead of a championship format, the U.S. plays three matches against those countries. A first place finish secures a spot at the World Cup later this year in Qatar.
Head coach Gonzalo Segares announced a 21-player roster. Competition begins next week. Below is an analysis of the roster.
