The Washington Huskies will play for the first national championship in program history after defeating Furman 3-1 in a thoroughly dominant performance. The match also marks the last for college soccer legend Doug Allison, who is retiring after 31 years leading the Paladins.

The first half was all Washington, dictating play from the opening whistle to the tune of a 12-1 lead in shots. It took 32 minutes for Alex Hall to set up the Zach Ramsey opener, at which point the Huskies could have scored a couple more, highlighted by a Harrison Bertos header that crashed off the crossbar in the 16th minute. That 1-0 scoreline stood for six minutes until Charlie Kosakoff pounced on an uncharacteristic mistake from the Furman backline to finish into an empty net.

Much like the first, the second half tilted heavily in favor of the Big Ten side, who could have added more if not for a goal-line clearance and another strike ruled offside. An Asher Hestad rocket made it 3-0 in the 86th minute, followed by a world-class volley from Luke Hutzell, giving Furman a consolation goal in the 87th.

The final whistle ended a commanding performance where Washington held a 24-6 advantage in shots. The Huskies will now play in their second national final after losing in 2021, while a Furman team that will return its entire starting lineup will be among the favorites for the 2026 College Cup.
