2011 Girls ODP Interregional | Day 4
November 24, 2011

Teams in the 1996 and 1997 age groups took the field for their second games of the annual US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Girls Thanksgiving Wednesday.

In the 1996 age group, the first game of the day pitted Region I against Region II. Emily Ogle scored her second goal of the week in the 27th minute to put Region II on top before half. Cassie Phillips added a second-half strike to secure the 2-0 victory over Region I.

After a scoreless first half between Region IV and Region III, Mariah Lee scored the game winner for Region IV in the 58th minute. The wins Wednesday gave 1996 Region III and Region IV two victories in as many games this week, and the teams will meet Friday.

Goals came early and often when the 1997's Region II and Region I met. A first half hat trick by Alia Martin and a goal by Samantha Dewey sparkeda  Region II 4-1 lead at half. Keri Cavallo, who scored the lone Region I goal in the first half, found the net again in the 50th minute, but Hannah Cady's 73rd minute strike capped off the 5-2 win for Region II over Region I.

In the other 1997 game, Michaela Abam started the game with an early goal, finding the net for Region III in the 2nd minute. Victoria Buda equalized for Region IV in the 33rd and that score would hold giving Region III and Region IV a final score of 1-1.
