2013 star surprises with early commit
April 28, 2011
I guess when you know, you know.
Promising young prospect Bryce Banuelos surely would have had her share of options had she elected to save her college commitment for at least her junior season, but the 2013 graduate made her decision early.
She chose West Virginia.
“There were three schools I really liked and when WVU was the best choice for me, I was excited to commit,” Banuelos explained. “Coach (Nikki Izzo-Brown) made me feel really welcome and comfortable and I like that West Virginia is always a very good team.
“Now I can focus on training and school.”
Bryce Banuelos
The Eclipse Select midfielder is our No. 41 ranked player on the 2013 Top 100 List. She comes from a great club environment and is a very decisive player – on and off the field. “We had no problem with an early commitment,” said her parents, Michael and Maria. “We feel the coaches at West Virginia promote a real close team and offer a great system of support for more than just soccer. The soccer was secondary. Academics and training is now the priority for Bryce, and that works for us.”
