2016 Girls Regional Rankings Update
We talk a lot at TopDrawerSoccer about the outstanding youth players in the IMG Academy 150, but there are hundreds of others in each age group that deserve recognition as well. So, each Friday following the Monday release of an IMG Academy 150 update, we highlight eleven of the regionally ranked players from around the country for that class. Today, it’s the 2016 Girls.

Claire Graves, Goalkeeper, Ohio Premier – Verbally committed to Iowa, Graves has attended multiple PDP camps, has been a member of the Region II ODP team, and was a first team All-State selection in Indiana for Noblesville High School. Graves also scored a goal for OP this season, an unusual feat for a goalkeeper.
Brook Littman, Goalkeeper, Real So Cal – Littman has played all 30 matches in goal this season for playoff-bound Real So Cal. She was chosen by TopDrawerSoccer as a standout at the recent New Jersey ECNL event and was a top 18 pick for Region IV ODP. Littman is verbally committed to Notre Dame.
Katherine Retz, Defender, Sporting Blue Valley – A strong, physical center back for Gareth Pritchard’s U17s, Retz has accrued two goals and an assist in the 2014-15 season.
Caitlyn Keenan, Defender/Midfielder, FC Stars – Keenan was a Super Y League national camp invitee in 2012 with Seacoast United, but has been with the highly regarded FC Stars ECNL for three years and is verbally committed to Boston College.
Mikayla Schachtell, Defender, Slammers – A versatile defender who can play centrally or on the outside, Schachtell was a standout at the TDS Los Angeles Combine this past January. For her club team, Slammers U16, she plays wide forward as well.
Cadie Higginson, Defender, Chicago Fire Juniors Louisiana – Higginson recently gave her verbal commitment to Navy, and was a 2014 ODP Interregional All Star selection.
Carson Nizialek, Midfielder, McLean Youth Soccer – Nizialek has travelled to Italy and Costa Rica with the Region I ODP team, and attended ODP National Camp in 2014. She is a Georgetown verbal commit.
Alexis Thornton, Midfielder, Solar Chelsea – A superior dribbler with an accurate shot, Thornton leads Solar’s U17s in goals (9) and assists (10). She will attend SMU in 2016.
Allison Jorden, Midfielder, SC Del Sol – Jorden has played 27 matches in central midfield for Tommy McNaughton’s U17s, and has verbally committed to Indiana.
Jennifer Marsh, Forward, Minnesota Thunder – Marsh commutes three and a half hours from Fargo, North Dakota participate in the ECNL, and is one of the top players on David Alberti’s U17s. She has verbally committed to Colorado.
Ambria Shutts, Midfielder/Forward, Atlanta Fire United – The assist leader for AFU’s U17s, Shutts is a left-footed wide midfielder who is verbally committed to Coastal Carolina.
