2017 Top 50 MLS Prospects: 21-30
The countdown continues.

Spots 21-30 in the MLS Top 50 prospect list are dominated by homegrowns. All but one of the next 10 players joined their respective teams via an academy (though some took a college soccer detour). There's a diverse age range of nearly seven years of the players below, not to mention a shared theme of spurning North Carolina; three of the players at one point or another committed to join the Tar Heels, only to be swayed by pro options.

30. Nick Lima – Defender – San Jose Earthquakes
DOB: 11/17/1994 | HT: 5-9 | WT: 177
The search for the 2017 version of Keegan Rosenberry (a rookie to step in and start from the opening day of the MLS season), Lima is the perfect fit. Another attacking outside back that motors forward and can be deployed on either side of the back line. Lima may not have as high of a ceiling as some of the other prospects on the list, though from all appearances, should be able to step into the starting lineup and provide a reliable outlet for head coach Dom Kinnear. How he adjusts on the fly and copes with the defensive demands, dictates how many minutes he can compile this season.
