2019-20 Generation adidas Cup kicks off
The 2019-20 edition of the MLS-run Generation adidas Cup kicks off this weekend, with games starting on Friday at four regional events around North America.
MLS’ annual event will be for the top Under-17 teams at their respective MLS academies, with January 1, 2003 the cutoff for this year’s event. The Seattle Sounders triumphed at the end of the 2018-19 event, becoming the first MLS academy side to win the upper tier of the event.
There will also be a U15 age group at this event, for players born January 1, 2005 or later. Twenty-four teams will be competing in the game groups as listed below, with the Montreal Impact not sending a U15 team to compete.
