Analyzing the U20 MNT Rev. Cup Roster
The U20 MNT has enjoyed a good run in recent tournaments. It rolled through the Concacaf Championship back in July, outscoring its opponents 31-2, dipping into a deep roster to secure World Cup qualification. Since then, those players have garnered more experience at higher levels of soccer, making MLS appearances and working their way into European club sides on a regular basis.
As the team heads into the Revalations Cup, then, expectations are relatively high. The tournament, held in Mexico City from September 18-28, will see the U20s face some tough competition. Over the course of 10 days, they will face Peru, Mexico and Paraguay — none of which will make things easy. To prepare for that, Mikey Varas has named a strong squad, heavy on experience and packed with promise.
Here are three takeaways from the roster.
