Brown women's soccer head coach Phil Pincince has announced the eight members of the incoming class of 2019 to join the Bears this fall.

Six of the eight incoming freshman hail from the west coast, including three from California and a pair from the state of Washington.

"The 2019 class is a strong, dynamic, and passionate group," said Pincince. "Individually, they will all bring something unique to our program and as outstanding student-athletes, they all contain the right character. I look forward to welcoming them to Brown in August."

The Bears got solid contributions from their rookies last season, including Mikela Waldman finishing second on the team in scoring with 10 points and Maclaine Lehan earning Second Team All-Ivy honors after logging every minute of play in the Brown backfield in 2014.

Below are the eight members comprising Brown's class of 2019.

Jennifer Caruso
Brockton, Mass. | Brockton

73 goals and 43 assists over four seasons at Brockton High School.
Three-time Big 3 All-Star, two-time Big 3 MVP.
Eastern Massachusetts First Team All-Star.
Brockton's all-time leading scorer.
Club Team: FC Stars of Massachusetts.

Why Brown?: "Brown has the best balance of high level academics along with high level soccer. The availability of a flexible schedule was a perfect fit for me."

Christine Etzel
Madison, Conn. | Choate Rosemary Hall

34-3-3 record over previous two seasons, allowing just 12 goals over that span.
14 shutouts in 2015.
WWNEPSSA Class A Champions in 2014 and 2015.
Club Team: Connecticut FC
U.S. Youth Soccer Region 1 ODP, won MVP in game against U20 Costa Rica National Team.

Why Brown?: I love the idea of an open curriculum, the campus also felt like home when I walked through."

Megan Grant
Carlsbad, Calif. | La Costa Canyon

All-Avocado West League First Team and All-CIF San Diego First Team.
Team captain.
Three-time CIF champion.
Club Team: Carlsbad Elite - Two-time USYSA National League Division Champion.

Why Brown?: "I chose Brown because of its academic excellence, the coaching staff, and thought of living on the east coast."

Amanda Lane
Phoenix, Ariz. | Xavier College Prep

Division I All-State selection.
State Champion in 2013.
Club Team: Sereno '97 - ECNL National Champion in 2013.
Team captain of Sereno '97.

Kate Maher
Seattle, Wash. | Lakeside School

Two-time team captain and MVP.
Four-time All-Conference selection.
Club Team: Northwest Nationals (2014-15) and Eastside FC (2009-14).
Washington ODP member (2011-13), three-time Washington State Champion.

Natalie Messing
Los Angeles, Calif. | Brentwood School

Brentwood's first solo captain of the women's soccer team.
Two-time First Team All-League selection.
Club Team: Westside Breakers - State Cup finalist and NHB Cup Champion.
West Coast Futbol Champion and participated in the Players College Showcase.

Why Brown?: "I spent the summer in the TheaterBridge Program which allowed me the opportunity to spend six weeks on campus. I felt comfortable with Brown's approach to academics and the college experience."

Nicole Phillips
Rolling Hills Estates, Calif. | Palos Verdes Peninsula

Team captain and two-time Bay League champion.
Named Best Defensive Player in 2013 and All-Bay League Team.
Club Team: Fram Beach FC - USYS National League Blue Division Champion.
