Club Soccer Alumni on U.S. Gold Medal Team
The United States Women’s National Team returned to the podium over the weekend, winning the 2024 Olympics in France.
With new head coach Emma Hayes making a massive difference, the 1-0 win against Brazil marked the team’s first Gold Medal since 2012.
As the top-level development environment in women’s soccer continues to change, the core of the group who helped lead the USWNT to gold comes from a familiar pathway. Eighteen of the 22 played at least one season of competitive college soccer (two were rostered but never competed in an official match). Fourteen played in the ECNL, coming through the ranks when the fledgling lead was taking off.
Here’s a look at the club pathway of each player named on the roster, including their high school graduation class and TDS club soccer player ranking, presented by IMG Academy.
