Loudoun 98 Red tops NASA B17 Elite
Loudoun 98 Red kicked off their Disney Soccer Showcase run with a convincing victory, routing NASA B17 Elite, 3-0, on Friday in the U-15 division.
“We’re very happy, we know how important the first win is, and we wanted to make sure we started out strong,” said Loudoun head coach Mark Jacobs. “We want to attack and score goals. We haven’t conceded a goal, and we want to just play good soccer.”
The 98 Reds didn’t wait long to get on the scoresheet, as Dorion Dixon’s strike from close range gave the Reds the early advantage, right before Giovanni Vasquez doubled the lead moments later in the first half.
Loudoun sealed the victory around the 70th minute when Michael Scully found the ball in the center of the box, slotting the ball past the goalkeeper for a 3-0 lead.
“We had much possession of the ball, and that’s what we want to do, hold the ball and work together for the goal,” concluded coach Ryan.
Carolina Elite score three in victory over Penn Fusion
A number amount of goals followed throughout the day, as Carolina Elite Soccer Academy defeated Penn Fusion Soccer Academy, 3-0.
“I thought the match was fairly even until we found the first goal,” Elite head coach Nicholas Finotti told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “When we found the second goal that took the life out of the game.”
Midfielder Mitchell Myers put Carolina in the scoreboard early in the first half after forward Drake Byrd was brought down in the box in the 20th minute. Myers slotted the ball to the left corner of the net for the 1-0 lead.
Forward and No. 7 Nassim Al-Nawasreh buried a dead ball in the box in the 80th minute before Drake Byrd added the insurance goal minutes later after he split through the Fusion’s defense.
“I’m proud on how the boys played today, and we look forward on winning more games,” concluded Finotti.

Nathan Solomon scored the first goal in the first half for Jacksonville, however, it was Gebhard’s two-goals catapulted Jacksonville to victory after scoring twice in the second half. Goalkeeper Brian DiLoreto made several key saves to hold on to the clean sheet, including a tremendous diving save moments before the match ended.
Second-half substitute Antonio Lindo added the fourth goal before the final whistle.
“The first 15-20 minutes was a good battle between both teams,” said Jacksonville head coach Joey Barrett. “We moved the ball superbly, and with our forwards up front had great finishes.”
