The ECNL season has a number of noteworthy events along the way. The month of May is especially busy with a U14 Showcase in South Carolina this weekend and then the National Event in New Jersey later this month.

Below is a rundown of some of the important games to watch this weekend as well as some of the players to watch.

U14

It’s the second U14 Showcase Event of the season this weekend in Greer, South Carolina. With over 20 teams headed to the Mesa Complex, it’s setup to be an exciting weekend in the ECNL. The highest seeded team bound for South Carolina is Bethesda SC, which sits in second place in the national standings. Bethesda is undefeated on the season with a 9-0-1 record. Bethesda takes on Birmingham United, Match Fit Academy, and West Florida Flames. The Maryland club is not the only one in South Carolina with an impressive record to show off. CASL, the seventh seed in the national standings, is closing out its regular season with three games this weekend. CASL takes on Concorde Fire, East Meadow Soccer Club, and Penn Fusion SA.

Outside of the event in South Carolina, there are still a number of crucial games in the U14 age group. Crossfire Premier closes out the regular season with games against Crossfire United and FC Portland this weekend. Crossfire Premier and Crossfire United played to a 1-1 draw earlier this season. Elisabeth Hairston and Caylie Etherington were the goal scorers.

SLSG - MO hosts Sporting Blue Valley on Saturday in a battle between the second and third place teams in the Midwest Conference. Both teams currently hold a spot in the playoff race as well. Sporting Blue Valley logged the 1-0 win in the first meeting this season with Brooke Thomas recording the shutout in goal.

U15

Match Fit Academy kicks off its busy month on Saturday with a game against FC Bucks. Match Fit U15 plays nine games in the month of May. Match Fit is currently in first place in the Metro Division and third in the national standings. Match Fit topped FC Bucks 1-0 in the first meeting this season. Emma Huntzinger recorded the shutout in goal.

FC Stars of Massachusetts takes on PDA and World Class FC on the road this weekend. FC Stars is in first place in the New England Division and sits in fifth in the national standings. Stars have been impressive this season with only one loss from 13 games. This weekend might be a challenge though, as PDA and World Class FC are also in the hunt for playoff spots in the highly competitive U15 age group.

D’Feeters is looking to end the regular season on a high note with games against Texas Rush and Challenge SC this weekend. D’Feeters is in fifth place in the Texas Conference but could sneak up the table with a six-point showing this weekend. However, the last time D’Feeters played these teams, they only managed two points with a draw in both games.

U16

Indiana Fire Juniors hit the road this weekend for games against Bethesda SC and Internationals SC. Indiana Fire Juniors hold the top spot in the Ohio Valley Division and the seventh spot in the national standings. Fire Juniors beats Internationals 2-1 in the first meeting this season with Laura Lentz and Allison Whitfield scoring the goals.

Sockers FC has a doubleheader against Minnesota Thunder Academy over the weekend. Sockers FC is third in the Midwest Conference heading into the weekend and riding a five-game unbeaten streak. The Illinois-club has only conceded seven goals in conference play thanks to the defense of Alissa Ramsden, Christina Petrillo, Gretchen Murray, Julia Leonard, Maya Lambert, Jenna Lafferty, Elizabeth Kowalski, and goalkeeper Megan Donnally.

Connecticut FC continues its busy month with games against Albertson Fury and East Meadow Soccer Club. This is the return fixture of last weekend’s results, which were a win for Fury over Connecticut FC and then a win for Connecticut FC over East Meadow. This weekend will be the third and fourth games of the month for Connecticut FC. The team is scheduled to play 11 games in the month of May.

U17

The big showdown in Texas this weekend is between two Dallas teams when Solar Chelsea Soccer Club hosts FC Dallas on Saturday. Both teams are in the top 25 in the Champions League qualification standings and both teams are in the top four in the Texas Conference. FC Dallas won the first meeting this season 2-1 thanks to goals from Kaylee Davis and Addison McCain.

Slammers FC hits the road too for games in Arizona this weekend. Slammers take on Sereno Soccer Club on Saturday and then SC Del Sol on Sunday. Slammers played to a 2-2 draw against Sereno in the first meeting of the season with Julia Bingham and Hailey Stenberg scoring goals for the SoCal squad. Alicia Jamison and Kassidy Madrigal scored for Sereno Soccer Club.

U18
