ECNL Weekend Recap: April 27-30
Playing three games in three days is no easy task, but it’s something Carmel United’s U17s managed with aplomb this past weekend.
The Indiana-based club grabbed three wins in three days to climb the standings in the ECNL Flight A.
“I think the team did a good job this weekend,” head coach Ralph Richards told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “We certainly put ourselves in good position to finish number one or number two in the conference as we go forward.”
On Friday, the club opened up with a big 5-1 defeat of the Minnesota Thunder, before navigating through a difficult 2-1 encounter against Penn Fusion. Carmel wrapped the weekend with another 5-1 win, this time over FC Delco.
“[I’m] very pleased with their performance, their attitudes, being able to maintain a high standard of play and I think they did that this week,” Richards said.
A number of players were in on the goal scoring, including Molly Pittman, Emma Dwenger, McKenzie Muchow, and Morgan Proffitt, all of whom enjoyed a standout weekend.
