Edelman signs with New York Red Bulls II
New York Red Bulls Academy product Daniel Edelman became the latest to turn pro, joining the team's USL Championship side Red Bulls II.
“We are really excited to add Daniel to our roster,” NYRB II Head Coach John Wolyniec said in a press release. “We got to see a glimpse of what he can do at the USL Championship level last year, and now I think he has worked really hard knowing that he can contribute a lot to our team.”

The New Jersey native had previously committed to play college soccer at North Carolina in the fall. The 17-year-old midfielder made his Red Bulls II debut in 2020, appearing in in five matches last season. On July 22, 2020, he scored his first pro goal against the Philadelphia Union II.
Prior to joining the Red Bulls Academy, Edelman made more than 100 appearances in the Development Academy for PDA.
“I am excited to sign my first professional contract, as this starts the next chapter in my soccer journey,” Edelman said in a statement. “It is truly a privilege to put on this uniform and I’ll continue to challenge myself to improve every day while competing at the highest level.”
