Examining the U.S. U17 WNT Player Pool
Over the past 22 months, the U.S. U17 Women’s National Team has been the most active youth national in the U.S. Soccer sphere. Head coach B.J. Snow has assembled the group for 14 events since taking over this age group in June of 2014.
Snow’s persistant approach has paid dividends, as he led the team to the 2016 CONCACAF Championship in March and has them regarded as the top team in the World in this age group. Beyond the immediate results, Snow has also promoted players within the U.S. Youth National Team structure with Ashley Sanchez and Kiara Pickett carving out significant roles with the U20 WNT. Sanchez was recently called into her first Women’s National Team camp.
Through this long process, Snow has taken a look at nearly 100 players through the numerous camps with this team. TopDrawerSoccer breaks down the player pool below and examines which players are certainly on the radar for the World Cup in October.
