The Girls Academy League hosted the Winter Showcase and Champions League 1 over the last four days from Norco, California. The event was held at the same complex at the MLS Next Fest the previous week.
The female event enjoyed better weather with none of the blanketed morning mist on the fields interrupting the action. There were plenty of teams vying for attention from the complex with dozens of college coaches/scouts on hand.
Following the games at Silverlakes, some of the top teams started to emerge from the field. Oakwood, Cincinnati United Premier, and TSJ FC Virginia put on convincing performances in the 05 age group.
