Girls Club Soccer Player of the Week
With the Girls Development Academy set to pick up the pace in the Northeast, some teams were in action over the holiday weekend for midseason preparations.
At the Penn Fusion Development Academy Winter Showcase, FC Virginia U19 forward Ellie Wheeler scored four goals in two games, earning the latest Girls Club Soccer Player of the Week. She had both goals in a 2-0 win against New York City FC and two in a 3-1 win against Nationals.
Wheeler had nine goals in nine games last fall in Girls DA play and is committed to play at Penn State in 2020. FC Virginia resumes league play this weekend with a trip to Georgia, where they’ll face Tophat on Saturday and United Futbol Academy on Sunday.
