The ECNL schedule for last weekend was fairly quiet with only the Northwest Conference in action in the older age groups. There were friendlies and showcases all over the map, but the official ECNL schedule was light for the weekend. This might be the last weekend for the rest of the season with an abbreviated slate of games across the country.
California Department of Public Health announced on Friday new guidelines to return to play for the state, which goes into effect Feb. 26. The California high school organizing body has already announced Feb. 27 as the start date for soccer, in the counties that meet the required threshold for competition.
ECNL has not updated the schedule for the California teams yet, but they will have plenty of ground to make up when they return to play in the league, which should make for some very crowded weekends in the near future.
