Charlotte Kelly, Goalkeeper, Lou Fusz SC
Class: 2015
Commitment: High Point
A player who takes huge stock in her team’s chemistry, that was one of the factors largely swayed Charlotte Kelly’s college choice.
“I decided to commit to High Point because it is everything I want in a college and soccer program,” Kelly told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “I liked the coaching staff and the current players. When I first talked with coach [Marty] Beall he told me about their priorities and that if you keep your priorities in line you will be successful both on and off the field.”
A shotstopper for St. Louis club Lou Fusz - Becher, the priorities of the program were obviously important for Kelly. She hit it off quickly with some of the current players on an unofficial visit and liked the environment.
The icing on the cake came with the academic opportunities she found at the school.
“When I first looked at High Point University, I looked at the school aspect,” she said. “They had the major I want, Exercise Science, and a new Physical Therapy program. The campus is gorgeous and everyone is friendly. I love the type of positive atmosphere High Point has and can't wait to be there as a student-athlete.”
Mollie Rosen, Goalkeeper, FC Wisconsin Eclipse
Class: 2014
Commitment: Northeastern
Whenever a team makes the NCAA tournament in women’s DI soccer, hopeful recruits take notice.
This especially rings true when it comes to a program like Northeastern, which battles in the Colonial Athletic Association, not one of the perennial conference powers.
That caught the eye of goalkeeper Mollie Rosen, from FC Wisconsin Eclipse.
“I chose Northeastern because it provides a nice balance between an established and rising soccer program and strong academics,” she told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “This past year, after a difficult non-conference schedule, the team won the CAA tournament and qualified for the NCAA tournament.”
The school’s educational opportunities were also a major plus, as Rosen enters school with lofty academic ambitions.
“In terms of academics, I felt the excellent co-op program and the ability to get real work experience while in college is a great opportunity, especially considering my unique intended major of biomedical physics,” she said.

Getting the chance to live in the heart of Boston was another positive aspect to the opportunity. And along with the program’s success, she sensed something positive in the team’s chemistry.
My favorite part of the soccer program is the cohesive team dynamic and the experienced coaching staff. I really enjoyed visiting the campus and meeting the team, and I could tell that the players and coaches had a lot of mutual respect for one another on and off the field.
