Grande Sports TeamRank Top 25 update
Today we unveil a rankings update for the Grande Sports TeamRank Top 25, the comprehensive ranking system for elite club soccer teams nationwide, taking a look at the latest standings for U16, U17 and U18 Girls. Next week, we will update the younger age groups on the Boys’ side. We will update our National Top 25 for each age group at least once per month.

McLean Youth Soccer enters the top 10 this month after two wins in ECNL play and a successful weekend at the Bethesda Premier Cup. McLean dominated its competition in the Chesapeake Division of the tournament just before Thanksgiving, scoring 18 goals and allowing just one. In ECNL play, Bethesda picked up two more conference wins to extend its streak to 10 and to remain on top of the Chesapeake Division standings.
Although Mustang ECNL remains third in the Bay Area Division standings behind No. 10 MVLA and No. 23 De Anza Force, the NorCal team had an undefeated run at the Phoenix Showcase against three ranked opponents to climb 10 spots to No. 14. Standout Megan Edelman scored three goals on the weekend, including the lone goal against No. 8 Solar Chelsea.

SLSG, McLean remain undefeated at U17
St. Louis Scott Gallagher ECNL climbs again this month, this time three spots into the top five, upon extending its unbeaten streak to 17 matches. SLSG followed its 1-0-2 performance at the Phoenix Showcase with two wins and a draw in Midwest Conference play.
Birmingham United SA went 3-0 in Phoenix, with wins against Texas Rush, Sockers and Dallas Texans, and sits in fourth place in the Southeast Conference. Class of 2018 forward Hailey Whitaker, an Auburn commit, scored four goals in the three matches to help her team to a No. 23 ranking in the Grande Sports TeamRank Top 25.
Real So Cal enters top 10 at U18
Real So Cal ECNL took care of business in its last four matches before the high school season begins in Southern California. At the Phoenix Showcase, RSC earned draws with Mustang and No. 24 St. Louis Scott Gallagher, and a win over Sockers FC, then in conference action earned a draw with SoCal Blues to keep their one loss season alive and climb to No. 10.

Grande Sports TeamRank is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.
The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.
Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.
A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
