Hopkins turns pro with D.C. United
D.C. United announced the signing of Jackson Hopkins on Wednesday, the 18th Homegrown addition in franchise history.
No. 72 in the 2022 Boys IMG Academy player rankings, Hopkins has spent ample time training with both Loudoun United and the first team prior to his signing.
In two seasons with Loudoun in the USL Championship, Hopkins has scored two goals in 19 appearances.
“Jackson has been training with the first team for the last six months and has shown maturity beyond his age both on and off the field,” Lucy Rushton, D.C. United General Manager, said in a statement. “He possesses a unique set of skills on the field with size and physicality combined with great feet and awareness on the ball. We are excited to sign Jackson to a Homegrown deal so we can continue to develop his game with eyes on him making an impact on the first team.”

Prior to joining the D.C. Academy in 2018, Hopkins played for Virginia Development Academy and Arlington SA.
He had previous committed to play college soccer at Virginia.
