NorCal Spring College Showcase: Day 2 wraps
DAVIS, California — On a day when league champions for the 2016-17 youth soccer season were officially crowned, the second day of the NorCal Premier Soccer NPL College Showcase lived up to its expectations on a sunny, 80-degree day at the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex.
While some divisions had already been locked up prior to the day’s action unfolding, the vast majority of NorCal’s top, Champions League, divisions came down to the very last moment, with the excitement extending until the very last match of the day.
The two-day showcase, which ensured competitiveness by making the matches coincide with the end of the NPL season, drew over 100 college coaches from all over the country, making it one of the largest events of its kind.
On the girls side of the event, it was the hosts who dominated, with Davis Legacy sides capturing two Champions League titles, while De Anza Force collected a pair of boys titles to continue their run as one of the strongest teams in Northern California.
Lamorinda SC were also able to win two titles, but split them between boys and girls. The San Jose Earthquakes, Sporting Santa Clara, Placer United and FC Elk Grove rounded out the Champions League winners.
Check out which players stood out on the final day of the showcase below.
