NYRB II sign 15-year-old Curtis Ofori
New York Red Bulls II signed Curtis Ofori to a professional contract with the USL Championship side on Monday. Ofori, 15 years old, is the youngest signing in franchise history. The left back joined Red Bulls Academy in 2017 with the club’s U13 team. He played for the U19 squad during the fall. He made five appearances and scored one goal.
“Curtis [Ofori] is an impressive young man, he trained with us last year on a limited basis and I think that experience has pushed him forward and inspired him to push his own development forward,” NYRB II Head Coach John Wolyniec said in the press release announcing the signing. “He is developing into a shut down 1v1 defender, with a big engine and he continues to impress us on the ball.”
Ofori was part of the roster for the U.S. Soccer U14 Boys National Team Talent Identification East in April of 2019.
