Players to know: U15 GNT
The U.S. U15 Girls National Team is in camp next week in Chula Vista, California. The first camp of 2022 for the Girls Youth National Teams. This camp will feature players in the 2007 birth year, which is shaping up to be a strong team for U.S. Soccer. The current top 2007, Melanie Barcenas from San Diego Surf, has been promoted to the U17 Women’s National Team and is playing up two age groups with that team.
There are plenty of other talented players in this age group including a couple from the same region as Barcenas. This camp, which is the first for new head coach Katie Schoepfer, features 34 players from the 2007 birth year and two from the 2008 birth year (Kim Ascanio and Shiana Samarasinghe).
Both the youngsters are names to remember for the future, but they are not the only ones to know from this roster. Take a look at five players to know from this camp roster.
