Pro Prospects: Ledezma tallies for PSV
Richie Ledezma’s late charge for a spot on the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team World Cup roster received another shot in the arm over the weekend.
After recovering from a foot injury suffered prior to his official contract announcement at the end of 2018, Ledezma made his first start on Saturday for PSV Eindhoven’s Under-19 team in the Netherlands.
Ledezma accounted for the game’s only goal in a 1-1 draw against NAC Breda. It’s another positive benchmark for the central midfielder, who could very well be heading to Poland in a few weeks’ time.

Soto on the double for Hannover U19s
While Sebastian Soto has made his debut for relegation-bound Hannover’s first team, the U.S. Under-20 striker was back with the A-Junioren side over the weekend. Soto made the most of his move back down to the youth team, scoring a brace as Hannover defeated Dynamo Dresden by a 2-0 score.
Two other U.S. Under-20 hopefuls were also in action. Chris Gloster was in the starting lineup once again for Hannover II, which drew Wolfsburg 1-1 in Regionalliga action. Midfielder Alex Mendez and his SC Freiburg team notched a 4-2 win in its matchup against SV Stuttgarter Kickers on Sunday.
Center back Michael Edwards made the bench for VfL Wolfsburg Under-23 sides on Saturday. While he didn’t make an appearance for them in the Regionalliga, he was back in the starting lineup for the Under-19s, which ran away as 5-1 winners – Edwards picked up an assist from a set piece (video below). Wolfsburg A-Junioren side have already secured the North/Northwest U19 crown for this season. You can read more about Edwards’ success in 2019 right here.
Americans Christopher Richards and Taylor Booth both started and played the entire match of Bayern Munich’s 3-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt. Defender Mason Judge, who had recently been promoted to Eintracht’s A-Junioren side, remained on the sideline with an injury.
Isaiah Young remained in the starting lineup for Werder Bremen II, playing the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of VfB Lubeck in the Regionalliga.
Imperato bags winning goal for Villarreal
Villarreal-based youth midfielder Jack Imperato accounted for the winning goal for the Juvenil B side over the weekend, which picked up a 3-2 win over C.D. Olimpic.
