The 2023 Major League Soccer season kicks off this weekend on February 25.
It marks the dawn of a new era for the league, which has shifted television coverage to Apple TV for the bulk of its games.
While that is a big change, TDS returns with a look at the Top 50 prospects in the league. There has been substantial improvement in the league's ability to identify and setup young players on a pathway to success, even if there is ample room to grow.
This year's list follows the following criteria: players must be eligible to play for the United States or Canada, played less than 3,000 MLS minutes, have an MLS contract and born January 1, 2003 or later. Players under an MLS contract but loaned out are also eligible. As always, it's an attempt to identify the top prospects under contract that have bright futures, balanced with projecting contributions in the upcoming season. The lack of preseason games to view did make it a bit more challenging than usual.
Below is a list of the Top 50 prospects that made the list, in alphabetical order. An article will be released each day this week from Monday through Friday.
