TDS Combine Best XI: Los Angeles Girls
The TDS Combine in LA took place in early December with some of the top recruits from California, Nevada, and Arizona playing in front of a variety of college coaches from every level of the scholastic game. The opportunity was perfect from some players, which stepped up to the plate and showed off in front of the watchful eyes.

GK MacKenna Carmichael, San Diego Surf, 2018 - Carmichael scored high among the college coaches for her vocal command and organizational skills. With improvement in a couple of areas, Carmichael showed the potential to be a very good goalkeeper at the collegiate level.
D Mikayla Schachtell, Slammers FC, 2016 - The Santiago High School standout had an impressive showing at the combine with the staff leaving remarks about her quality in defending. Schachtell has potential to be a solid defender at the collegiate level.
D Julia Ware, West Coast FC, 2018 – Ware was one of the youngest players at the Combine, but her quality still shined through on the day. She was excellent at getting forward from the defense and showed a good technical ability on the ball.
D Machaela George, So Cal Blues, 2016 – George was one of the highest rated players from the Combine evaluation with her passing and first touch drawing top marks. The 2016 graduate was also praised for her off-the-ball movement from the games at the Combine.
D Alonna Clark, Albion SC, 2016 – Clark’s service was fantastic throughout the Combine. Whether it was a short pass to a midfielder or a long searching ball to a forward, the defender found her mark and helped her team keep possession. That type of prowess on the ball helped earn her the attention of a few coaches in attendance.
D Lauren Hess Locquiao, San Diego Surf, 2017 – Locquiao’s consistency was one of her trademarks at the Combine as she brought the same quality to each session and game.
M Sydney Cooper, West Coast FC, 2017 – Cooper was a standout performer from the event and drew lofty praise in the evaluations. She was mentioned as an impact player at the Division I level. With her technique and vision, her influence was obvious on offense and defense throughout the games at the Combine.
M Katelyn Moxley, Heat FC, 2018 – Moxley’s aptitude on the ball stood out to the Combine staff. The midfielder from Nevada also had a brilliant display with her passes in the games. She also drew remarks for her endurance during the full-field games.
F Arlie Jones, San Diego Surf, 2017 – Jones was a big hit with the combine staff. She showed off her quality on a number of occasions and struck a few goals that left a lasting impression with the college coaches on hand.
F Allison Farr, Slammers FC, 2017 – Farr’s electric burst with the ball and close control drew the attention of the Combine staff during the games. The coaches also praised her ability to take in critique and elevate her game.
F Jada Talley, So Cal Blues, 2017 – The 2017 graduate earned the attention of many college coaches on her hand due to her skills and ability to face a player up in 1v1 situations. Talley is one of the leading scorers in the ECNL and her quality translated well to the Combine where she was one of the best on the day.
