The nationwide TDS Combines series is headed to New York. Taking place on Saturday, June 29th at the Mitchel Athletic Complex, the one-day combine will provide all the resources and opportunity for players in the area to be recruited and scouted by local college coaches and elite scouts.

TDS Combines afford the chance for players to play in front of over 20 college coaches from Division I, Division II, Division III, and the NAIA. Iona, Marist, Hofstra, Binghamton, and many others are already scheduled to attend the event with more coaches added to the list every day.

In addition to the individual exposure acquired from the Combine, players will also receive a recruiting seminar and a 1-year Premier membership to TopDrawerSoccer.com, which provides an invaluable tool in reaching out to a number of college coaches across the nation.

Directing the Combine will be Alecko Eskandarian, current assistant coach of the New York Cosmos and former U.S. Men’s National Team member. Eskandarian won the 2000 Gatorade National High School Player of the Year and went on to play three seasons at the University of Virginia where won the prestigious MAC Hermann trophy in 2002.

He was drafted #1 overall in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft by D.C. United, and played seven seasons in Major League Soccer with Toronto FC, Real Salt Lake, Chivas USA, and the LA Galaxy.

“A combine such as this one in front of top notch college coaches is extremely helpful for players of all levels,” Eskandarian said. “Each college team has a need, and it’s not unusual for someone who was previously not on the radar to impress in combines like these and end up being a key contributor.”

Standout performers who have showed well at previous TDS Combine include Chicago Magic’s Elijah Rice, and Vardar’s Hannah Jones, who both used the experience to their benefit.

“It gave me the chance to play in front of the coach at one of the top programs I am considering,” Jones said.

Meanwhile for Rice, the Combine served as preparation for a U15 BNT camp in Italy the following week.

“It was fun to get out there and compete against the region’s best players,” Rice said.
