The final event of the 2013 TDS Combine series returned to its beautiful home, Los Angeles, on Sunday December 8th. Some of the top talent from SoCal, Norcal, Nevada and even Arizona graced the fields at Veterans Park on a cold and damp December Sunday. The combine attracted an array of top DI, DII and NAIA schools, with coaches finding potential college players all over the field.

The coaches ran through technical sessions, small sided games and a series of full field games through which players were evaluated.  As a result TopDrawerSoccer have put together the Girls First Team All-Combine and Second Team All-Combine for our Los Angeles event.

Girls First Team All-Combine Los Angeles

Siena Ruelas – Strikers FC - Goalkeeper (2016) – Siena impressed with her great shot stopping ability and clean safe hands. Vocal and confident, she led by example from the back and looked safe throughout the full field games.

Destinney Duron – Real So Cal - Defender (2014) – Destinney was strong, quick, confident and assertive. She impressed the coaches and staff throughout the day with strong tackles at the back, and her breaks forward. She has the ability to beat players on the dribble from defense down the line, and has the end product with great through balls and crosses into the box. She also managed to get a goal, chipping the keeper on the 6 yard box after good link up play down the flank.

Kristina Holbrook – Exiles – Defender (2015) – Junior defender Kristina was solid, composed and simple at the back. An all-round athlete with maturity beyond her years, she made the right decisions to play simple and short or long at the right moments. She was rarely beaten in the air or on the ground during the combine. Kristina has a good range of passing and is a great communicator on the field.

Morgan Thornton – CZ Elite FC - Defender (2015) – Morgan’s competitive nature and athleticism makes her a perfect defender. Aggressive in the tackle, winner by nature, and speed left her winning balls all over the defensive third.

Lauren Crenshaw – SC Del Sol - Defender (2016) – Strong and technically sound, Lauren looked good 1 v 1 at the back and showed composure on the ball. The youngest of our Best XI defenders, Lauren is one to watch for the future.

McKenna Doe – Slammers FC - Midfield (2016) – McKenna is a technical and versatile player. She has a great first touch and has the ability to run at players. Off the ball she made a lot of good runs to create space and opportunities.

Leah Mohammadi – Slammers FC - Midfield (2015) – Leah has all the attributes to succeed in soccer, showing great strength and technique throughout the day. On top of which she read the game very well, showing great vision and ability to attack in different ways through a variety of short and long range passing. Defensively she read the game well, intercepting passes and breaking away out of the midfield.

Jessica Miclatt – Arsenal FC – Midfield (2016) – Sharp, technical and crafty Jessica showed creativity breaking out from the midfield creating chances for both her and the team on the dribble and through link up play. She always looked two steps ahead both mentally and physically. Great pace and very skillful, Jessica showed willingness to work for the team and play right back in one of the games, in which she looked solid and natural making runs down the flank.

Marissa Mendez – LA Premier FC – Midfield (2017) – As one of the youngest players at the combine Marissa showed that she is a good technical and composed player, who links the play well between defense and midfield. She sat deeper and kept the play flowing with simple passes.

Kailee Prescott – Arsenal FC – Forward (2016) – Kailee showed good composure in front of goal, with a sweet strong shot. She dropped deeper into the midfield to work hard to win back the ball and linked up well with her team mates. She showed great changes of pace to create chances in front of goal for herself.

Arlie Jones – San Diego Surf – Forward (2017) – Arlie impressed the coaches with her smart and mature play high up in the field. She won balls in the air, looked comfortable with the ball at her feet, and held the ball up well to connect with team mates and got good strikes off early with a high shot to target ratio. She reads the game well and worked hard for the team when not in possession. The youngest of our forwards she is one to watch for the future.
