U16 Nomads SC has not lost since Oct. 2

The U18 New York Red Bulls weren’t the only game around this weekend – we rundown the most recent action from the U.S. Development Academy.
For the Premier, Ryan Herman didn’t flinch in goal as his team earned their third point of the weekend.
U17/U18
- Washington Premier FC climbed out of an early hole with two second-half goals to capture a 2-1 victory Saturday over the Irvine Strikers.
- Nomads SC and LAFC Chelsea battled to a 0-0 draw Saturday. For Nomads SC, it was another strong effort within a string of them. Nomads SC hasn’t lost since Oct. 2, a stretch of eight matches.
- Kelyn Rowe, Crossfire Premier (left)A combination of many key performances has buoyed the team, including those of attackers Christopher Luu and Alfonso Maytorena.
- California Development Academy started the match with five consecutive goals to take a 5-1 blowout win over De Anza Force on Saturday. Connor Hallisey and Matthew LaGrassa recorded two goals apiece as California won its fourth straight and has not dropped a match since Oct. 31.
- Birmingham United got balanced play in a 3-0 shutout win over IMG Soccer Academy on Sunday. Goal scorers included Jackson Fendley, Robby Thomas, George Fradenburg while the defense held up thanks to players like Patrick Davis and Jack Goldberg.
- Irvine Strikers goalkeeper Chase Hauser helped his team earn a 0-0 draw with the Crossfire Premier on Sunday.

U17/U18
- High-scoring attacker Kelyn Rowe came up large with two goals as the Crossfire Premier took down Pateadores 3-0 on Saturday. The Crossfire also beat the Irvine Strikers 2-0, capping a spectacular weekend for keeper Andrew Weakly who posted both shutouts.
- Other shutout performances from goalkeepers included: Evan Alkhas (Irvine Strikers), Bryce Leach (Washington Premier FC) and Nicola Garbella (Nomads). Alkhas and Leach achieved the feat against one another while Leach led a 2-0 triumph over LAFC Chelsea.
- Martin Ontiveros scored twice as IMG Soccer Academy beat Birmingham United 3-1 on Sunday. It’s been a good week for top prospect Ontiveros who just recently signed with Akron.
- The New York Red Bulls resumed action and picked up where they left off in December. Coming off a two-month layoff, the Red Bulls took down BW Gottschee NYC 2-0. Always one of the more exciting academy teams, the Red Bulls are 4-1-2 so far this season.
