The U.S. Under-17 WNT will begin its quest for a spot at this year’s World Cup on Monday.

FIFA increased the size of the tournament, and that has left the format for qualification much different.

Instead of a complete knockout-style event, Concacaf has shifted to a group stage-only competition where the first place finishers qualify. The best second-place team will also join the trio of group winners heading to Qatar later this year.

That leaves the United States with a straightforward assignment. Starting on March 31, the USA will face host Trinidad & Tobago (7 p.m. ET), Honduras (April 2 at 4 p.m. ET) and El Salvador (April 5 at 7 p.m. ET) in Group C. All matches take place at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad & Tobago.

Topping the group will secure a spot in the 24-team competition. Head coach Katie Schoepfer named a 21-player roster last week, with preparations taking place in Miami this past week.
