In late November, the U.S. U14 Girls National Team, made up of girls born in 1999, assembled in Carson, Calif. for its final camp of the 2013 calendar year. The third camp is the pinnacle for the coaching staff as it builds the group over the course of the camps and moves them onto the U15 age group for 2014.
This age group holds a special meaning, as it will be the next group for the U17 Women’s World Cup cycle in 2016.
April Kater, head coach of the U14 GNT, chatted with TopDrawerSoccer.com last week about how the camp went and why she is excited about this age group.
