U.S. U17 WNT punishes Trinidad & Tobago 5-0
The U.S. U17 Women’s National Team surged past Trinidad and Tobago 5-0 on Saturday in the second game of group play at the CONCACAF Championship in Guatemala.
Emily Bruder provided the game-winner in the 20th minute when the forward from Utah drilled a 25-yard bomb into the upper corner.
Andi Sullivan, Sarah Robinson, Summer Green, and Joanna Boyles all added insurance goals in the second half to clinch U.S.’s second convincing victory at the World Cup Qualifying event.
Albertin Montoya’s side returns to the field on Monday with its final group play game against Mexico.

U.S. Player Ratings:
GK: Jane Campbell, 6. When called upon, Campbell provided the reassuring save that kept T&T off the score sheet early in the second half.
D: Brittany Basinger, 6. There was not much defending for Basinger to do, but she was a solid option in facilitating the possession game.
D: Madeline Bauer, 5. The vice captain missed two clear chances to score on set pieces in the first half, but did well defensively.
D: Miranda Freeman, 6. Freeman’s distribution was key for breaking down the compact defense in the second half.
D: Gabrielle Miranda, 7. The outside back delivered a perfect cross to Bruder that should have led to a goal in the first half.
M: Morgan Andrews, 6. It was a typical outing for the captain with a number of great passes and timely interceptions.
M: Sarah Robinson, 7. Robinson was justly rewarded with a goal in the second half, as the midfielder tirelessly worked from box-to-box throughout the game.
M: Morgan Stanton, 6. Stanton’s showings are quiet in the sense she does not provide much flash, but she is the industrious component that kept the midfield churning against a high-pressure defense.
F: Summer Green, 7. With her constant runs at the defense, Green was a nightmare for the defense.
F: Andi Sullivan, 7. There were some nervous touches in the opening few minutes for Sullivan, but she settled in well and put her mark on the contest with a well-taken goal.
F: Emily Bruder, 7. The highlight of Bruder’s outing was the world-class goal in the first half.
Substitutes:
Darian Jenkins, 5. The winger failed to find the pace of the game, and just looked slightly off from her teammates.
Morgan Reid, 6. There was not much to do defensively for Reid, but she did manage to get into the attack a few times.
Joanna Boyles, 8. Boyles delievered a tremendous assist for Summer Green’s goal, and then took matters into her own hands with a thunderous strike from distance in stoppage time.
