#20 NC State Wins Third Straight Match

RALEIGH – The 20th-ranked NC State men’s soccer team (7-2-1) picked up its third straight win on Tuesday evening, defeating the visiting ETSU Bucs (3-5-2) by a final score of 1-0 inside Dail Soccer Stadium.
In a physical match that featured a combined 32 fouls and seven cautions, NC State controlled a majority of the play and outshot the Bucs by a 7-5 mark. ETSU entered the match averaging 14.2 total shots and 6.1 shots on target per game, but the Wolfpack did not allow the Bucs to test senior goalkeeper Vincent Durand with any shots on goal en route to his fourth shutout of the season.
Junior midfielder David Loera provided the match-winning goal in the 26th minute, collecting a loose ball just outside the penalty area, beating two onrushing defenders, and hitting a low shot inside the left post that was out of the reach of goalkeeper Josh Perryman.

-NC State has gone 186 consecutive minutes without conceding a goal.
-The Wolfpack improved to 20-3-6 (.793) at Dail Soccer Stadium since the beginning of the 2017 season.
-Tuesday’s win was head coach George Kiefer’s 25th at NC State (25-15-8).
NC State returns to Atlantic Coast Conference play on Friday evening when sixth-ranked Wake Forest visits Raleigh. Kickoff from Dail Soccer Stadium is scheduled for 7 pm with live streaming coverage provided by ACCNX.
