2018 NWSL College Draft Rewind
This weekend marks the start of the 2018 National Women’s Soccer League, with preseason preparations wrapped up.
Teams announced their official rosters for the season on Monday, as the now nine-team league gears up for another campaign.
On the cusp of a new season is the right time to dig back into the draft. Given the loss of the Boston Breakers, spots were hard to come by for players selected in this year’s edition. Those that were picked by the Breakers were selected in the dispersal draft (where players from Boston were disseminated throughout the league).
There’s another caveat to consider at this point in the season, as some draftees elected to return to school for a final semester. They could end up factoring into a team later on in the season, as teams hold on to rights throughout the year.
Based off the roster announcements from earlier this week, below is a rewind of the 2018 NWSL draft, and which players made their respective team.
