#23 Princeton Defeats Rider, 2-0
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Sophomore goalkeeper Carmen Carbonell (Valencia, Spain/Guadalaviar School) matched her career high with 12 saves, but the Rider University women’s soccer team fell to nationally-ranked No. 23 Princeton, 2-0, Thursday night on Ben Cohen Field. With the loss, the Broncs slip to 2-2-1, while the Tigers are now 4-1-0.
The Tigers got both of their goals in the first half, with Gabi Juarez scoring the game winner in the 15th minute, finishing a cross from Abby Givens. In the 41st minute, Emily Hilliard-Arce arced a shot from outside the 18-yard box past Carbonell. Sophia Gulati assisted on the tally.
The Broncs generated chances in the second half, but couldn’t find the back of the net.
