DARVILLE, Ohio - The Lady Jackets took advantage of two breaks in the penalty area and made them stand up for a 2-1 result over Ursuline in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference game.

The outcome keeps Cedarville atop the G-MAC standings at 6-2 overall and 3-0 in the league.

The Jackets got on the board in the 22nd minute on a rare indirect kick just 10 yards from goal. The Arrows were whistled when a defender played the ball back with her foot and the UC keeper picked it up.

CU executed the restart perfectly. Elise Hurley tapped the ball and Jacoby Ziegler bounced a shot off of the Arrows' defense into the net for her league-leading 8th goal of the season.

After Ursuline equalized in the 36th minute, the Lady Jackets caught their second break two minutes later. The visitors were called for a hand ball just inside the top of the box and Kaitlyn Stiles deposited the PK for her second goal.

Both teams took turns hitting the iron in what was a scoreless final 45 minutes. Hanna Harris made three saves for the home side.

"It wasn't pretty, but it was a victory," remarked Head Coach John McGillivray. "Ursuline is solid and it was important for us to win at home. We'll take it."

CU returns to non-conference action by hosting Findlay on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
