Alma Edges Hope In MIAA Showdown

The Hope women's soccer team dropped a first-place clash against Alma 1-0 on Tuesday night at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
The Flying Dutch (7-1-1 overall) fell into second place after losing for the first time this season. They have 13 points with a 4-1-1 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association record and 13 points.
Alma, which scored in the 21st minute on Agatha Weddle's third goal of the season, improved to 5-3 overall and 5-0 in MIAA action.
Hope goalies Kat Dickson of Grayslake, Ill. (Grayslake Central HS) and Lauren Kooy of Metamora (Flint Powers HS) each played one half and combined to make four saves.
The Flying Dutch return to action on Wednesday, October 2, when they host Kalamazoo College at 7 p.m.
