BC men's soccer withdraws from 2020 season
Boston College men's soccer became the second ACC program this week to decline to participate in the fall season, announcing that they wouldn't compete in the upcoming campaign.
The program's twitter account released the following statement:
"The Boston College Men's Soccer team has made the decision not to compete in any matches this Fall. The decision was made by the players and staff due to the team's low roster size related to many incoming and returning players unable to make it to campus this semester due to current challenges. It was a difficult decision, but was made to protect the health and safety of our student-athletes. The team is excited to be back on campus and will be training full-time during the Fall semester in preparation for a return to participation this coming Spring season."
The Eagles were slated to enter their first season under new head coach Bob Thompson, who was named head coach earlier in 2020.
